From the Smart Access Home Screen choose Maintenance > Change Synchronization Time, set the time you would like for the readers to update (the default is 12:01 am and you want it to run while there is little to no traffic at your facility), then select Save Changes.
It is also helpful to set a Scheduled Task to ensure Smart Access is launched before this daily sync occurs. To do this, you will want to first create a batch file that the scheduled task can launch, as tasks cannot directly launch an application. An example batch file is attached, which you can copy to any location on your computer. Once you have copied the batch file to your computer, you can create a scheduled task to launch that file.
To create a Task, search for Task Scheduler from your Windows Start Menu. Once the program is open, you can choose Create Task from the Action panel. In the General tab, you can name the task (something like Start Smart Access), and choose the options Run only when user is logged on and Run with highest privileges. In the Trigger tab, choose New and set to begin "On a Schedule" with a Daily frequency. Set the time to be 10-15 minutes before your Smart Access' set synchronization time (default is 12:01 am). In the Action tab, click New and set the action to "Start a Program", then browse to fin the location of your saved batch file. Click OK to close the task window.
This task will now run every night prior to your scheduled Smart Access sync and will quit out of Smart Access, if it's open, and relaunch it to ensure the sync will occur.
