Tokenization and PCI

Last Updated: Aug 21, 2015 07:41AM CDT

What Is Tokenization?

Tokenization is a data security method that Trinexum uses to safeguard sensitive credit card data.  The tokenization process converts raw credit card data into a unique, surrogate value called a token. The token then becomes a unique representation of the credit card information and is used in place of a credit card number in Trinexum.

Tokenization and PCI Compliance

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards mandate that any organization that stores, processes, or transmits cardholder data must protect this data.  In order to meet this mandate, Trinexum tokenizes credit card data through our PCI Compliant Partner, PayPal.
