How to cancel a lost or stolen gift card
If a member has a gift card that was lost or stolen, you can follow these steps to deactivate the card:
- Go to the purchaser's transaction history and find the receipt number for the original purchase of the gift card.
- Go to Reports>Financials>Gift Cards>Audit Trail and run the report for the date the gift card was purchased and export to Excel.
- Find the correct receipt number in the Excel spreadsheet, then go to Reports>Financials>Gift Card>Balance and then type in the Gift Card # that corresponds with the Receipt # in the Audit Trail report.
- Check the box to "Deactivate Card and Transfer Balance to Online Credit," then select the person the online credit should go to and click Transfer.
